You do not need one expensive medicine cabinets purchased from a pharmacy or elsewhere.

Use a basket with a lid or a box
This then becomes the first aid kit containing no drugs.

Things that can be stored dry:

Fire wraps
adhesive plaster
Sterile sponges (to clean wounds)
Sterile swabs best to have in several sizes.
tape
Steri-strip to close small cuts
Sole Pack / pressure bandage
Support Bandage
Tweezers
ice pack
Analgesic tablets
Activated charcoal / liquid coal
Bandage Scissors
medical saltwater
cup to bath the eye in
Wide elastic bandage tape on roll without pillow
fever thermometer

This as listed above can be nice to have in a regular plastic container with a lid that you can put on top of a cabinet so its out of reach of children. The bathroom is not a suitable place for first aid as it is often hot and humid.

Things that should be kept cool:

Analgesic / antipyretic (syrups and suppositories)
Anesthetic gel (prevent pain before cleaning wounds)
disinfected cream
itch relieving cream
eyewash
nasal spray
ointment
Calendula ointment (anti-inflammatory and wound-healing)

What must be kept cool is okay to put in a small plastic container with a lid that can stand the top of the refrigerator so kids can not reach it.

It is cheaper to buy the first aid kit separately instead of expensive pre solutions.
